 Jodensavanne Historical Boat tour (Jewish settlement)

Cruise the Suriname river to the once oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. Jodensavanne, now only ruins and an old cemetery, used to be the settlement of the first Portuguese-Jewish immigrants who came to Suriname around the 17th century. Learn about this interesting historical location under the enjoyment of a delicious Surinamese meal.

Multiple day tours

Arapahu Island

As a rare diamond in the Corantijn River Arapahu Island welcomes you to the beautiful untouched rainforest of West Suriname. You will be pleasantly surprised by the spectacular Frederik Willem IV and the King George waterfalls surrounding the island, the fascinating old rock carvings with mysterious Petroglyphs, and the virgin rainforest interspersed with hiking trails. On this beautiful and tranquil island with its comfortable accommodation, you can relax perfectly and enjoy the sound of the water streaming alongside.
In 1 hour and 15 minutes you are flown from Paramaribo to the airstrip of
Amatopo. After a walk of about 800 meters through the jungle you reach the banks of the Corantijn River from where you will continue your trip to Arapahu Island by boat.

KABALEBO NATURE RESORT

Kabalebo Nature Resort is a luxurious resort, located in one of the most beautiful areas of Suriname, deep in the untouched Amazone forest. Itinerary

Kabalebo Nature Resort 4 day tour

Day 1
You will depart by airplane from the local airport at Zorg & Hoop in Paramaribo for the airstrip close to the Kabalebo Nature Resort, a flight of approximately 75 minutes. Upon your arrival you will be invited to enjoy a hearty breakfast after which you will leave for a hiking trip from the foot of Misty Mountain to Zand creek. Here you will be able to relax on a sand bank in the river and enjoy the breathtaking view. On the return trip while floating in the river, you can enjoy the birds, the animals and the spectacular nature which surrounds you. The night is spent in quiet relaxation.

Day 2
After breakfast you can either take a boat ride, a walk through the forest or you can choose to climb the Misty Mountain. This climb takes 4,5 hours with the option for a level 1 climb of 2 hours. After lunch you are given the opportunity to fill in your on time as you please and/or relax on the pier.

Day 3
After breakfast you will start a hiking trip from the mountain trail to the Mooi- Mooi waterfall. You will enjoy lunch on this spot. After lunch you leave for the beautiful Krongsula rapids, which traverse the entire width of the river. You can spend some wonderful time swimming in the river after which you will start the walk back to your lodge.

Day 4
After breakfast you can choose to either go kayaking or take a walk near the airstrip. Afterwards you will be flown back to Zorg & Hoop, Paramaribo.
